(Wand Buckwheat)

Eriogonum elongatum 

A perennial growing 2-4 ft. tall including the inflorescence.  Fairly common on dry slopes in coastal sage scrub, chaparral, and borders of grassland, especially in the Santa Ana Mountains, less common at lower elevations along the northwest and southeast coasts (Roberts). It is leafy below, bare above. Flowering May - Nov.
