(Big-gland Nuttall's Snapdragon)

Antirrhinum nuttallianum spp. subsessile

The less common ssp. subsessile is found usually near the coast, southern foothills and Santa Ana Mountains. Both subspecies are hairy with A. n. subsessile having coarser hairs with enlarged tips. Both are erect woolly sticky annuals 4- 40 in. high with twining branchlets that are shorter and twine less tightly than the similar A. kelloggii.  Flower stems are 1/4-3/4 in, long.
