Interior Live Oak

Quercus wislizenii

Native to California. Grows on dry slopes at higher elevations in the Santa Ana Mountains.  Mature trees range from 30-75 ft., and the state record holder in Stockton is 90'.   These trees can live over 200 years.  They are resistant to fire due to thick bark, and sprouting ability. They hybridize with Coast Live Oak and other oaks.
