The genus translates as "Lonely golden" since they are in the goldeneye group (another name for the Family Chrysopidae) and because they are sometimes found alone or in lonely places (far from water, vegetation, etc.) in our deserts. Common in our deserts, foothills, and coastlines. Eremochrysa is one of two genera of brown-colored green lacewings in California.
