In the General Data section for each plant, I have listed the frequency that the species is found within upper Newport Bay. The words used to describe the frequencies are as follows:
 
RARE: Species that have been found only once or twice or in only one location
UNCOMMON: Species found only a few times and generally in different
locations within the study area.
 
OCCASIONAL: Species found infrequently but more often than uncommon.
 
COMMON: Species found throughout the entire study area but not in
profusion.
 
VERY COMMON: Species found throughout the entire study area, generally
everywhere within the growth habitat of the specific plant
