Plant Characteristics: Biennial, with 1-several slender erect stems 5-12 dm. high, glandular, sweet-scented, early greenish and glabrate; lvs. lance-linear, mostly 2-6 cm. long, larger cauline lvs. 5-7 mm. wide, all generally withered at flowering; infl. a large terminal +/- oblong panicle; invol. 4-5 mm. high, turbinate, flowers 40-50, pistillate corollas 3-3.5 mm.; pappus bristles free; phyllaries dull white to green, often pinkish, +/- rounded to pointed.

Habitat: Occasional,
dry slopes, below 1500 ft.; Coastal Strand, Coastal Sage Scrub, Chaparral; near
the coast from San Diego Co. to cent. Calif.
March-Sept.
Name: See G. microcephalum for origin of the genus name.
Ramosissimum means much
branched. (Dale 67).
Latin, ramulosus, many
branched. (Jaeger 217).
General: Occasional in
the study area. This plant is
common on the bank below the intersection of Eastbluff Dr. and Jamboree Rd.
