Small Evening Primrose

Camissoniopsis micrantha
(Camissonia micrantha)

The smallest of this genus with 2 up to 20 inch prostrate stems, dark green leaves
with grayish hairs, and tiny yellow 4-petalled 1.5 - 7 mm flowers, which age to red.    Seed pods are curved, 3/4 in. long with square cross-section when dried.  Locally frequent in open places in many habitats, usually in sage scrub.
